RekalaBot
“RekalaBot” is the automated reader of Rekala Labs SpA, Santiago, Chile. This page says what it reads, how it behaves and how to block it.
Who it is
It identifies itself in every request with this User-Agent:
RekalaBot/1.0 (+https://rekala.io/bot)
What it reads
Only public sources about projects and acts in the energy, mining, water and infrastructure sectors: official gazettes, websites of public bodies and RSS feeds of trade media.
From each page it keeps the title, a short summary and the link, always with the source and the date. It does not copy whole sites, does not index private areas, does not collect personal data and is not a search engine.
How it behaves
- It obeys each site’s robots.txt, Allow lines included, as set out in the RFC 9309 standard.
- It waits at least two seconds between requests to the same site.
- It makes conditional requests, so it does not download again what has not changed.
- It caps every response at 2 MB.
- It reads each source only a few times a day.
How to block it
Add these lines to your site’s robots.txt:
User-agent: RekalaBot
Disallow: /
RekalaBot reads each site’s robots.txt again at least once an hour, so the block takes effect within an hour at the latest.
